Strategy Consultant - Cost Optimisation - Global Consulting Firm - Contractual Role

Our client, a global strategy consulting firm, is leading a large-scale cost transformation project for a major consumer goods company in India.

As part of this initiative, they are looking to bring in an experienced Strategy Consultant with expertise in cost optimisation within procurement and supply chain functions in consumer companies

The consultant will play a key role in identifying and executing cost-saving opportunities, streamlining procurement processes, and driving operational efficiencies

Key responsibilities:

- Leading the implementation of cost optimisation initiatives across procurement and supply chain functions

- Analysing existing spend patterns, supplier agreements, and procurement strategies to identify cost-saving opportunities

- Developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to enhance supplier negotiations and improve procurement efficiency

- Collaborating closely with internal teams, consulting teams, and senior stakeholders to align optimisation strategies with broader business goals

- Providing data-driven insights and cost-reduction recommendations based on best practices

- Tracking and reporting key cost optimisation metrics to senior leadership

- Working in a fast-paced consulting environment, ensuring cost transformation initiatives are executed effectively

- Reporting to senior leadership within the consulting firm and the consumer goods client

Your background:

- 8+ years of experience in cost optimisation, procurement, or supply chain management

- Prior experience working with consumer goods/FMCG companies is strongly preferred

-Experience in strategy consulting or cost transformation consulting is highly desirable

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of delivering cost-saving initiatives

- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making

- Hands-on experience with procurement strategies, supplier negotiations, and operational cost reduction

This is a long-term contract role, initially set for 12 months with the potential to extend up to 18 months based on project requirements. The consultant will be required to be stationed in Gurgaon for the entire duration of the project
