Senior Relationship Manager Mid-Market (Large Corporates)

Location: Raipur

Department: Corporate Banking / Commercial Banking

Reports to: Team Head / Group Head Mid-Market Banking

Role Overview:

The Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) is responsible for managing a portfolio of mid-market to large corporate clients. The role involves deepening client relationships, originating new business, and delivering a full suite of banking products (lending, trade, treasury, etc.) while ensuring prudent risk management and compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

- Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-market to large corporate clients (typically 200 Cr 1000 Cr turnover or equivalent).

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering tailored banking solutions.

- Conduct regular client meetings to understand business needs, offer customized solutions, and provide high-touch service.

Business Development:

- Acquire new clients through market research, referrals, and strategic networking.

- Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across products (lending, trade finance, FX, cash management, etc.).

- Prepare and present credit proposals in line with the banks risk appetite and credit policy.

Credit & Risk Management:

- Conduct detailed financial analysis and due diligence on clients.

- Prepare credit appraisals, structure deals appropriately, and ensure timely renewals and reviews.

- Monitor portfolio for early warning signals, ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory norms.

Internal Collaboration:

- Work closely with product, credit, legal, compliance, and operations teams to deliver seamless service.

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders for onboarding, documentation, and transaction execution.

Compliance & Governance:

- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory guidelines, KYC norms, and internal processes.

- Maintain clean audits and zero non-compliance across client handling and documentation.

Key Requirements:

Education:

Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Economics; MBA/CA/CFA preferred.

Experience:

- 7-12 years of experience in corporate/wholesale banking or mid-market relationship management.

- Proven track record of handling mid to large corporate clients and originating new business.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong financial analysis and credit appraisal skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- High level of integrity, commercial acumen, and risk awareness.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet revenue targets.

Performance Metrics:

- Growth in portfolio size (asset and liability book).

- Fee income and cross-sell ratios.

- Credit quality and portfolio health (NPA/ SMA control).

- Client satisfaction and retention.
