Project Planning Consultant - Construction - Global Consulting Firm - Contractual

Our client, a global consulting firm, is collaborating with a leading player in India's power transmission industry on a major transmission line construction initiative. This program focuses on ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of multiple large-scale transmission projects, while establishing best-in-class project management processes

As part of this effort, they are seeking an experienced Project Management Consultant with a strong background in project planning and scheduling using industry-standard PMO tools such as Primavera and MS Project. The consultant will play a critical role in driving planning excellence and risk mitigation across these high-impact infrastructure projects

Key responsibilities:

- Develop, monitor, and update detailed project plans and schedules for transmission line construction

- Utilize tools like Primavera and MS Project to manage timelines, resources, and dependencies

- Support the client team in implementing robust project management processes and methodologies

- Identify potential risks, delays, or bottlenecks and recommend mitigation strategies

- Work collaboratively with construction, engineering, procurement, and stakeholder teams to ensure alignment and progress

- Provide regular reporting and updates to senior stakeholders

Your background:

- 5-10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling and proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera and MS Project

- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering; a postgraduate degree from a top-tier university is preferred

- Experience in the power transmission sector is desirable but not mandatory

- Strong understanding of construction practices, project management methodologies, and industry standards

- Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills

- Ability to manage cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment

Other information:

- This is a contractual role, the initial contract duration of 4 months

- Full-time, on-site requirement in Delhi throughout the engagement

- Consulting delivery model available (5 days on-site in Delhi, with flybacks to base location on weekends)
