Ports Construction Consultant - Global Consulting Firm - Contractual

Our client, a global consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Consultant to support a Ports construction project in Liberia

This is a key role within a high-profile industrial project, focusing on project management, progress validation, and stakeholder coordination.

The consultant will work alongside an existing on-ground team from the global consulting firm and will report to the Program Manager while collaborating closely with the project team on site.

Success in this role will be assessed based on timely project execution, effective governance, and seamless coordination among various stakeholders

Key responsibilities:

- Acting as a consultant for a port construction project in Liberia

- Validating progress on civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical erection at the site

- Refining and validating the project schedule

- Conducting planning and scheduling workshops to improve efficiency

- Coordinating cross-functional teams, including the Project Team, Project Management Consultants (PMC), and Design Team

- Managing day-to-day coordination with PMC and EPC contractors to ensure timely project execution

- Establishing governance frameworks, conducting project reviews, tracking key metrics, and preparing detailed reports

- Reporting to the Program Manager from the global consulting firm while working closely with the on-site consultant

Your background:

- 5 to 10+ years of consulting experience in the industrial goods sector, ideally with a top-tier consulting firm

- Experience working with engineering & construction firms such as L&T, Tata Projects, Shapoorji Pallonji, Gammon, Leighton, etc. or Project Management firms (PMC) for construction projects such as Mace, Kier Group, Mott MacDonald, etc

- Experience in ports construction or marine infrastructure engineering.

Educational background from a top engineering or business school

- Strong project management, stakeholder coordination, and governance skills

- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage on-site execution challenges

Other important information:

- The role requires full-time on-site presence in Liberia, with a work cycle of six weeks on-site followed by two weeks in India

- Round-trip travel to India will be provided

- All accommodation and logistics in Liberia will be managed by the client

The consultant will work as part of an established team from the global consulting firm

The contract duration is 6-9 months (extendable)
