Our client, a global consulting firm, is working on a market penetration project a leading e-grocery platform in India. The broader initiative aims to significantly grow its market share and user penetration across key cities. As part of this aggressive expansion strategy, the platform is focusing on improving city-level input metrics, deploying hyperlocal marketing tactics, and ensuring seamless last-mile operations
To drive this transformation, the client is looking for a hands-on City Marketing Consultant who can take full ownership of city-level performance. The marketing consultant will lead penetration efforts at a local level by driving marketing activations, improving city-level performance metrics, and managing the on-ground team
Key responsibilities:
- Driving on-ground marketing activations such as door-to-door promotions, offline affiliate programs, and other innovative BTL (below-the-line) initiatives to increase user acquisition and platform penetration
- Leading a team of City Leads and Zonal Heads to ensure execution excellence and ground-level process adherence
- Managing the city-level P&L, including revenue growth, cost management, and overall profitability
- Building and mentoring a performance-driven team of city managers, area managers, and delivery personnel
- Collaborating closely with central teams (Marketing, HR, Tech, Supply Chain) to align city-specific campaigns and resolve operational challenges
- Leveraging data and analytics to track KPIs, optimize processes, and improve decision-making at the city level
Your background:
- 5-10 years of experience in city-level marketing and P&L ownership roles, ideally in e-grocery or quick commerce businesses
- Demonstrated success in managing and executing BTL marketing activities and leading large operational teams
- Graduate in any discipline; an MBA is preferred but not mandatory if strong work experience exists in relevant domains
- Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills are a must
Other Information:
The opportunity will be on an initial contract duration of 6 months, with a strong likelihood of extension. This is a travel-intensive role covering cities in North, East, and West India. Consultants will follow a weekly fly-in/fly-out model, with travel and accommodation covered by the client by the client
