We are currently looking to close a Manager (R &D) and Regulatory- Candy and Confectionery for one of the topmost Foods and FMCG Conglomerates in India. The position is based near Thane in Mumbai

JD is as follows:

1. Ensuring regulatory compliance of all Food FGs/RMs to FSSAI/ any other applicable standards and guidelines:

- This involves making sure that all finished goods (FGs) and raw materials (RMs) comply with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations and any other relevant standards. This ensures that the products are safe for consumption and meet legal requirements.

2. Setting the RM/FG specifications of food products:

- Establishing the specific criteria and standards that raw materials and finished goods must meet. This includes defining acceptable ranges for various parameters like moisture content, pH, and nutrient levels.

3. Ensuring FG/RM of food products meets FSSAI Regulations for quality & safety:

- Continuously monitoring and verifying that both raw materials and finished products adhere to FSSAI regulations, ensuring they are of high quality and safe for consumers.

4. Ingredient list check, nutritional labelling check, review of artwork:

- Reviewing the ingredient lists and nutritional labels to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. This also includes checking the artwork on packaging to ensure it meets legal and branding requirements.

5. Support to IBD in case of food product export:

- Providing assistance to the International Business Development (IBD) team by ensuring that exported food products comply with the regulatory requirements of the destination country.

6. For new food product manufacture - Sharing the manufacturing SOP & format of BMR (Batch manufacturing record) with QA and monitoring the FMP process:

- Developing and sharing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs) with the Quality Assurance (QA) team. Monitoring the Food Manufacturing Process (FMP) to ensure it follows the established guidelines.

7. Shelf-life studies of all food samples:

- Conducting studies to determine the shelf life of food products, which involves testing how long the products remain safe and of good quality under various storage conditions.

8. Cross Check Monthly Sample received from Factory and report if any deviation - Analytical testing of food FGs & RMs whenever required:

- Regularly testing samples from the factory to ensure they meet specifications. Reporting any deviations and conducting additional analytical tests as needed.

9. Analytical support to cigarette lab:

- Providing analytical testing and support for the cigarette laboratory, which may involve testing tobacco products for quality and compliance with regulations.

10. Maintenance and upkeep of testing equipment and updating records related to the same:

- Ensuring that all testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Keeping accurate records of maintenance and calibration activities.

11. Maintaining 5S of the work area:

- Implementing and maintaining the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to keep the work area organized, clean, and efficient.

Age - 32-43 yrs

Qualification - MSc(Chemistry)/ Btech

Experience - Min 5-8 yrs of experience in food/pharmaceutical testing. Must have basic regulatory knowledge.

CTC to be offered - Around Rs 30lpa
