Data Scientist - Portfolio Analytics - BFSI Domain - Consulting Firm - Contractual

Our client, a leading global consulting firm, is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to support portfolio analysis for one of their key clients in Mumbai

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Analytics:

- Develop predictive solutions, such as segmentation and lookalike models, for targeting customers based on segments/personas and merchants

- Identify actionable insights through data-driven analysis-for example, driving card activation to increase spending and engagement

- Understand the client's business problems and develop data-driven frameworks aligned with their growth strategy

- Devise analytical frameworks and strategies, such as driving higher customer card spending across channels and corridors

- Provide project management oversight, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects

- Share timely project updates with stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle

- Manage data science projects from conception to deployment, ensuring timely and successful delivery

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide data-driven insights

- Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in data science roles, with at least 4 years in BFSI

- Hands-on experience with Python and relevant libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy)

- Proficiency in SQL is mandatory.

- Experience in building predictive models on large datasets and feature engineering

- Experience in developing models using the XGBoost ML algorithm.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Strong ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

This is a 6-month (extendable) contractual opportunity in Mumbai. The consultant will be required to be stationed in Mumbai for the entire duration of the project
